Our Story - A3 Informatics: a new joint venture by Assero Ltd and S-cubed ApS.
Dave Iberson-Hurst (Assero Ltd) has been working with the CDISC standards and related standards for the pharmaceutical industry for the last 20 years. He has often discussed the long talked about ‘end-to-end’ and ‘metadata-driven approaches’ as a way of improving processes within clinical research. Meanwhile the FDA continues to raise issues with the data quality and integrity of electronic submissions and consequently further rules and submission checks have been put in place. Sponsors want to ensure their submissions are accepted.
Dave was pondering these issues while watching his beloved Tour de France in 2015. He had always considered that there had to be a better way of managing clinical research data. He came up with a vision of how he could use a metadata repository to improve every aspect of the current clinical research process, incorporating CDISC Standards. But the repository and its associated tools needed a name. It was 23rd July 2015 and the Tour de France was tackling one of the key climbs the Col du Glandon it seemed obvious; the Glandon MDR was born.
However, Dave knew that his idea and vision was not enough, he need a strong and visionary partner to see this forward. Enter Scott McGregor and Niels Both of S-cubed. Scott and Niels had worked with Dave on a number of projects and realised that what he was trying to do could be a solution for many of the companies they work with. After some discussions and many conversations about mountains on the famous Tour de France route, the combined understanding of Assero Ltd and S-cubed, created A3 Informatics.
